Presenting a Positive Direction on the Relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Art

On October 7th, Gwangju Metropolitan City and Gwangju Cultural Foundation held forum under the theme of ‘UNESCO Media Arts Creative City and AI (Artificial Intelligence)’. The ‘UNESCO Media Arts Creative Cities Network Policy Forum 2020’ has been successfully completed.

 

The policy forum, which marks its fourth anniversary this year, was held live streaming at the Gwangju Community Media Center due to the COVID-19. A mask-shaped LED transparent display was installed at the site. The world’s creative cities have sent out video works that are overcoming the pandemics with culture and arts. The biggest topics were artificial intelligence, art and ‘AI Hub city Gwangju.

 

CEO Jang Woo-sok Regarding ‘Media Art and AI’, “As technology advances, if technology replaces human territory, humans can focus on creating more meaningful art with time and intelligence saved by it.”, suggested a positive direction for the relationship between artificial intelligence and art.
