JTBC Wins the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016

The new space design for the broadcasting channel JTBC (Sangamdong, Seoul) has been selected to be the winner of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016. The Red Dot Design Award is one of the three internationally recognized quality label for excellent design. Dilussion provided planning and engineering service.

JTBC Wins the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016, the Second Winning Since 2013

JTBC decided to renew the space as they move into the new building in 2015. In particular, creativity and aesthetics the two installations, Tri-Wall and Flap Wall in the new lobby area were highly appreciated. Also the brand’s identity was well represented in the space.


The Flap Wall, installed in the new lobby area, has total of 144 kinetic modules, and pixels in visual language, with each module capable of expressing 25 colors. The Flap Wall displays various shapes with different color compositions based on pre-programmed sequences. The Tri-Wall, located behind the information desk, creates interesting looks with red, blue and green by rotating series of triangular-shaped vertical display modules. The continuously changing images brings the static lobby area to life while conveying the channel’s slogan “Coloring Your World.”


The winning of Red Dot Award 2016 clearly proves the brand’s design capability on the offline area as well as online. “We will continue to try challenging in the new area to expand the our unique identity into various areas”, says Kim Hye-Jin, the Head of Brand Design Department at JTBC.
